About the Hike:
lets explore our beautiful hinterland!
be prepare for a breath taking weekend trip.
Girraweeen NP is situated near Stanthorp, deep in the hinterlands. About 4 h drive from the gold coast highway.
Our first escape will be in Wild mountains , in about half way to our final destination.
Wild Moutain prperty give us the opportunity to see Mount Barney is a Mountain within the scenic rim region within the south east queensland.
its a good 2 hours drive to submersion in land. This mountain is the six or seven highest mountain in queensland, wait till you see the view!
You will be camping the night prior in the propiety of wild mountain environemental school, where koalas, black cokatoos, padimelons and many more wildlife trive.
Waking up to bird chants, After an early breakfast
we will make our trip down to our treck starting point , then assend.
Expect a moderate walking past, to take in the view, breath the fresh air , connect with others and be present
Remember, its not about the destination, its about the journey.
Grade: hard hike ( according to the internet), its a steep assension, requiere climbing.

What you need to bring:
drive to location ( 4x4 preferable) otherwise email for driving instructions details
cash donation for wild mountain environemental school ( what ever you wish)
lunch snacks for day pack for the saturday hiking
2l water bottle minimum
transport to location
hiking pack ( recommend a 10 to 20 L)
warm clothes for the night
personnal blister pack
Thongs or camp shoes
note and pensil
swimmers, if you are brave enought
long sleeve shirt
extra cash for a bint or two at the famous pub after the hike
